In our world so many are struggling,
Struggling with their lives
Through no fault for their own.
But amongst our lives there are good people,
Good people who help so many.
They help through the goodness of their hearts,
Not fearing for themselves
As they believe helping others
Is so important,
And means so much to them.
But these people sometimes don’t realise,
Don't realize they're actually drowning,
Actually drowning,
When they're trying to be others anchor.

A master of every day observation .. there is a whole lot of insight, wisdom and truth in these words ...
Thank you Neville, some people give so much of themselves to help others.
Andy
Yes I can see that. Giving of ones self in a form of compensation for some thing missing perhaps. Whereas they themselves are needy but for many a reason, possibly cannot recognise that or, will not seek some form of easing or help.
But it has to be said that helping others is often cathartic or even a self healing process.
Thank you da.
Yes I agree that helping others is often cathartic within ourselves.

Good write Gold.
Yes, some may burn out trying to do it all. Would they go insane in the end trying to meet ALL the world's needs? Or certainly have a breakdown.
They would go mad trying to help me to sing anyway. Millions have tried! lol.
Thank you Orchi.

...And as dusk says - for some at least, I think. Some may help others in need, to compensate for their own needs, or partly so. That may help them to some degree. A couple of lines of a hymn say:
'Whilst tending other's souls not to neglect, My own to keep'. Makes sense.
Helping others is like a band aid upon our own heart. Great write Andy. ; )
Thank you AP, we must try and help others in our lives.
Andy
I think part of our purpose here on Earth is to help each other. And...it gives us poets something to write about. ; )
Uplifting -- thank you
Thank you Trent.
