WARNING!
This may be the saddest poem you have ever read
I had a chocolate soldier
He had a chocolate heart;
He had a chocolate lady fair,
They never were apart.
They marched out in the morning
As daytime had begun
And there, beneath a cloudless sky,
They melted in the sun.

Excellent! A must to recite to the grandchildren.
Hi da. This was originally intended as a children's poem but it may be too sad for their ears.
Kind regards, Alan
Good write Alan. Aww!
I tortured my chocolate soldier. Dunked him in hot tea. I'm horrible! lol.

Oooh - - am smiling yet feeling sad tears - - -
what an end to a sweet affair......... love it to bits Alan.
A sad story indeed, Fay. However, that's life.

Now if I can stop sobbing Alan, I would be asking myself if this won’t be the fate of many human folks in the next fifteen to twenty or so years …
Neat verse – I admired it very much – thanks.
G'day Dave.
You may be right, although you wouldn't think so here in Blighty today - rainy cold for May. I guess in your neck of the woods the soldier wouldn't last long.
Kind regards, Alan
Beautiful poem, Alan.
Hi Jerry,
I am pleased that you enjoyed my chocolate soldier. Please think twice before you devour one again.
Kind regards, Alan
Haha -- that cheered me up. I could not feel sad even though the melted.
I'm pleased this made you happy TP. At least no one gets hurt. Thanks for looking in, I appreciate it.
Kind regards, Alan
Sad yet lovely, at the end, they became one.
