The March of the Chocolate Soldier

Alan .S. Jeeves

WARNING!

This may be the saddest poem you have ever read

I had a chocolate soldier
He had a chocolate heart;
He had a chocolate lady fair,
They never were apart.

They marched out in the morning
As daytime had begun
And there, beneath a cloudless sky,
They melted in the sun.

          Now if I can stop sobbing Alan, I would be asking myself if this won’t be the fate of many human folks in the next fifteen to twenty or so years …
          Neat verse – I admired it very much – thanks.

            G'day Dave.
            You may be right, although you wouldn't think so here in Blighty today - rainy cold for May. I guess in your neck of the woods the soldier wouldn't last long.
            Kind regards, Alan
