Not Here – better elsewhere.

Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. 😂

Frog in pot of water slowly heated

Does not feel a thing until it’s too late.

With us we believe we’re undefeated

Although climate change will not let us wait.

    Nicely done, Dave.

A superb stanza here Doggerel Dave, and I totally agree with your sentiment.

Bravo, and I hope all is well.

So I don't have to move you along, AS as per my 'comment from author'?

Oh Dave this rhyme is CLEVER - - - four lines of warning and so very telling.

      • Doggerel Dave

Thanks Fay - seems the quatrain has become my favourite mode of communication poetically; can't seem to break away very often.
Frog in pot is a fairly well used analogy - I can't claim originality there....still if it serves its purpose here, so be it.

        Good one.

Tis true even the most timely of warnings may not be wholly heeded until its too late ...

Yes indeed, very clever & very much enjoyed ...

Thanks Neville – glad you enjoyed. My real motivation as per my ‘Comment from author’ and my irritation that more attention had not been paid, in particular to Aa Harvey’s Greta poem. So a bit of a quick forced comment there.

          Very powerful four lines Dave.

Thanks Andy - as above and 'Comment from author".

I thought I'd been sweating a bit more than usual lately. I thought it was just old age.
