Coursing

John Prophet

Coursing.
Coursing
through
existence.
Eyes open,
journey
begins.
Starting point
determined.
Accident of
birth.
Genetics
laid out.
Accident
of birth.
Path?
To be
determined.
Who we
become
will be
the result.
The result
of decisions.
Decisions
made.
Undulating
progress.
Coursing
through
time.
Winding
river the
odyssey
be.
Sculpting
the journey
determines
the path.
President
or
homeless.
There’s
a path for
each.
Everything
in between.
Decisions
made
determines
outcome.
Masters
of destiny.
Personal
destiny.
Choose
wisely.
The futures
at stake.

That future is there for us all and where are now was decided upon each path we took or door we opened.

'in all those muddied-up traced laylines
      of fateful choices, ley lines
      nirvana awaits: as promised...'
Now this is my interpretation of
'achingly, Shrapnel incisions of mercifully sharpened, wit'
as coping methodology, to our lives sublime of Absurdity!
(a brilliant image and write, dear poet)
it let me indulge in all that snarky cynicism I carry with me
in those unacknowledged corners of my psyche, lol
