The red pitt of rejection

hvm99

That blurring twisted pain that follow can break a person in two blowing you down so rapidly

you hit the ground

Bang

Your head splits open

dragging you down to a place that you don't like to entertain in your mind because you know once you're there

It's hard to be pulled back up.

Gravity crushes you so forcefully,  your bones  crack one at a time

Slowly displacing your body into a jelly like figure, where you can't even prop up your head

And it's like your dancing with your spirit as you desperately try to lift your broken bones

 Piecing them one by one

urgently hoping that you can glue yourself back together

and run away from the dancing spirit that tap dances in your mind

 Getting louder and louder

 until you can't breathe

And you collapse, getting sucked up by the dirty swamp which desperately wants to enslave you in its grounds

 you push and you squirm

And you fight back

 but you know that

It's only when the swamp unclenches its mouth and spits you out

That you can stand back on the ground with your bones intact

 Back on track.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Everyone's been rejected by someone or something in their life, and the toll it can take on an individual can be consuming until the mind and body recover.
