Notice of absence covered a five day visit to Manley (look it up) last week.
Warned not to trip over little penguins only thirteen inches from ground to beak.
However the penguins were told of my propensity to trip over and wreak
Havoc on anything moving or still and so they panicked and went with a shriek.
We saw none of the little perishers…..

Hey Andy - As per third and part fourth lines, those little birds felt safety first: we can't always have wot we want, I once heard.
After nine days away with the penguins sir, I'm surprised you came back at all ..

Thanks Neville - we went for a short break, an hour's drive away, mostly through long tunnels and came out into a different world.....

Walking the beaches of south Brazil I have seen penguins but usually just those too weak to run or those that perished and washed up on the sand. I think this goes a little deeper. I have known people that have heard I was comming to visit and were not home when I arrived.
