Tune: Down Ampney
('Come down, O love divine')
Acts 2 v.1-4, v.16-21 parts
*********
Come, Holy Spirit, come
And make our hearts your home
There you promised to come, take residency
As old, Pentecost day
The disciples did stay
In one place, waited until He came, so be
Suddenly then a sound
From heaven did redound
Of a rushing mighty wind, filled the house there
Where they were gathered all
In prayer did on you call
Now promise of the Spirit they did all share
And cloven tongues like fire
People from each town, shire
The flames descended on each of them present
The Holy Spirit filled
All of them, it God-willed
They spoke with other tongues* which He had them sent (*languages)
Peter, he did explain
To them, did make it plain
That this be what was spoken by prophet Joel
From days of old foretold
That they would witness bold
The Spirit poured out on each believing soul
Then prophecies, visions
Unto God's daughters, sons
And dreaming dreams, all shown, men, women, children
In heaven above wonders
Blood, fire, smoke, and vapours
Who calls on name of the Lord shall be saved then

Suddenly the sound from heaven did resound.......... was it the sound of a cash till accepting the days profiteering from investments made by the big business we know as the christian churches?
Eye of a needle duplicity on high - again.
Thanks dusk. Erm, maybe sometimes, as you say.
Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
