A recipe for hurt!

sue.evans

Soak up a cup of disappointment

Several spoonfuls of hurt

A dash of ill treatment -

Add Loneliness - just a squirt!

Take the medicine on the chin

Swallow it down like a good ‘un

Whilst wearing  a false grin

Mentally -  the damage done!

Coz there it sits - a heavy knot

The ball of hurt - rattling inside

Until the poison erupts from that spot

Opening the flood gates wide,

Then the tears flow from my eyes

And a new me will arise!

Nice work. The days poison usually has to mix with the previous weeks barely digestible insults before my inner cauldrun boileth over.

These tears though are such a good self repair mechanism. Every problem or disappointment eases with the salve of tears shed.

A sweet little sort of short-line sonnet. Thanks for the hopeful "new me" inspiration!

I loved the way you expressed yourself in this poem.
The medicine is always within ourselves and then we all become another person. It is a great read and you are a good poet. Keep on writing. Cheers Micalina
