I sit hear writing these words,
Listening to music,
Feeling so happy with my life.
But there is a dilemma,
A dilemma in all our lives.
How can we be happy
Amid the unhappiness of others?
We can do what we can to help,
So in poetry and in music
I can show it to others,
Hoping that they can see it,
See the happiness within,
And bring it into themselves.

An interesting question you raise here. I am lucky to be a predominantly happy (glass half full) type of person - used to annoy others with my monday morning happiness - but i could have just as easily been born predominantly unhappy and negative.
We can't change people to be happy but remaining happy ourselves is important. Don't let the buggers draw you down. Having said that though, don't be aloof.
Well that's my three-penneth without attempting to penetrate the subject deeper and come up with a load of mumbo-jumbo as befits some.
Thanks for your words d a, I agree entirely with you, I too am a glass half full type of person, and you are right, people just do not understand that.
Andy
Good write Gold.
Meanwhile - I wish I would stop singing. It only spreads un-happiness! hehehe.
You got that song for me? Over the hills and far away? (a million miles preferably, they say) lol.
Thanks Orchi.
Yes the one you can sing with the bagpiper - the further away the better.
Andy
And, erm, yes, what dusk said - Don't let the b****** drag ya down!
They never will.
Feel like I’m on a different planet sometimes, Andy.
People are unhappy for any number of reasons including, but not exclusively:
Bad relationships (often evidenced here),
Economic difficulties (not having enough Bread –being poor in other words),
Inadequate housing (living on the streets an extreme example) BTW the fetishisation of the house as an investment opportunity rather than shelter is one of the moral deficiencies of our age.
War and conflict,
And so on and so on…
That having been stated, by all means be happy yourself, and if you manage to inflict that on others - good for you, but don’t believe you are going to solve world unhappiness by being happy yourself.
Regards Dave
Preemptive apologies, Andy. On review I feel my response was too discourteous and rude.
The above listed are issues I happen to feel very strongly about, but there is no reason or justification for the tone I displayed here.
Dave
No need for apologies Dave, I understand what you mean, I know that I am not going to solve the worlds unhappiness but if I can help only one person it is a start.
Andy
You are very forgiving, Andy - I'm not sure I quite deserve such unconditional acknowledgement.......... High time I learnt to curb my enthusiasm a little......
"Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." - Mother Teresa.
Excellent write Andy. ; )
Thank you AP. Totally agree with Mother Teresa's words.

To see happy faces is enough to lift hearts of others who would like to learn how to embrace the same mood. Keep being yourself dear Andy and spread your good words of appreciation for nature etc. I for one love to look forward to reading your poetical lines along with your lovely choice of music.
Thank you for your kind words Fay, I try to lift the hearts of others.
Andy
Tough world we live in. Finding happiness in it is, well.... difficult.
Wonderful write.
Thank you John.
