Tune: Lucy
('O Lord of every shining constellation')
Matthew 4 v.12-17
**********
Now when Jesus heard that John the Baptist, he
Was in prison, He went to Galilee*
He left Nazareth*, came to Capernaum*
It on the coast
It on the coast by the sea, He did come
It be in the borders see, of Zabulon*
And Nepthalim*, there then He be, God's Son
That it might be fulfilled, prophecy told sure
By Isaiah
By Isaiah, that He was at that shore
Those lands were called Galilee* of the Gentiles
The peoples there sat in darkness long whiles
But now they saw great light, the Light of the world
He unto them
He unto them was revealed and unfurled
And to them which sat in region and shadow
Of death light is sprung up, its dawn they know
For Jesus was among them, He did there preach
Repent now, for
Repent now, for God's kingdom does you reach

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 11.10.11.4.10. metre. A tune I have not used before. There is the intentional short repetition of the beginning of the last line of each verse. The hymn is sometimes sung to different tunes.

So appropriate in these current times.

Thanks Gold.
Llamentable. A look back to the times when the middle east was left to sort out its own problems.
Nowdays the 'make believe' democracy of fat wallet (from arms sales) western countries attempt to wade in as (weapon selling) peace makers vying for kudos points and so called 'peace prizes'
Written as the west still reaps the benefits (arms sales and dead bodies)of interfering too much in the recent past.
Thanks dusk.
just felt a shiver run down my spine ..
...
my word, very here and now Mr. O ..
Thanks N. You felt the Presence?! Ooh! They are towns and areas in Northern Israel, as the North was often invaded first by enemies. Now they are the first to see the Light.
You remembered that extra 4 syllable bit too in the verses? It need not trip us up in singing it.
