on your way to school
in your booster seat
i am so sorry you are gone
so sorry that a coward
took from you the gift of life
so sorry that you left us
before you were able to be the you
that you would have been in years to come
just because someone was in a hurry
a big hurry
to drive down soulless freeway
and merge out
of any hope of redemption.
