The look in their eyes
when they see something,
the most natural of things,
which most of us share
yet denied to them,
adoration.
Suffering torture
and humiliation
for that one gift.
It's all in the eyes,
if you look.

Maybe a look in ones eyes is a defense mechanism and, if we are lucky, we can actually observe a change when the 'guard' is lowered.
Old wives used to say the eyes are the windows to the soul - - a lovely number and a telling verse.
Old wives were a mine of wisdom. Eyes do tell us such a lot.

So true . Some people experience so much ... and they might well take it for granted ... whereas others crave so much of what they have .

There are so many beautiful and kind people who experience so much sadness and suffering yet they deserve a lot more
Exactly as I see it Yellowrose. To see the adulation in the eyes of a sensitive/beautifully minded person when they are gifted with even just a little of what they do not have in their life is really quite noticeable. It makes you want to give.
