Tune: St James Air
('How lovely is your dwelling place')
John 15 v.26-27
*********
Come, Holy Spirit, us indwell
E'en as Jesus did tell
That He would send you to us, for
You the comforter sure
The Helper you, the Paraclete
Your presence may we greet
God the Father, He does you send
You shall to us attend
You sent to us in Jesus' name
Worthy of honour, fame
But you seek not your own glory
You teach us constantly
You shall teach us all things that we
way ahead need to see
And bring all to remembrance
Jesus' words to us thence
Peace Jesus leaves with us, His peace
continuing, not cease
And say, Let not heart be troubled
Not fear, nor be appalled
So come, Holy Spirit, abide
Within our hearts reside
Find there a home, a welcome guest
Reserved true fro the best
And cleanse from sin, fill us daily
There your dwelling place be
Give us power to serve, witness
Gospel message no less
