Tune: Nicea
('Holy, Holy, Holy!')
*********
God of all glory, God without beginning
Ever living, your years never have an ending
All below on earth here, and above heavenly
Hosts worship you, Eternal One you be
Creator of all, from the greatest to least
Your works of wonder seen, your power ne'er does cease
All by you is ordained, your order, arrangement
Your Spirit from [God the] Father through Son [to] us sent
We humans fathom not fully Trinity
Yet you be one God who is expressed [in] Persons three
What we may know of you, you to us reveal
Came in your Son, a world to redeem, heal
Our worship accept, here we humbly do pray
You source of all life, you true reign so sublimely
Grant us wisdom to still follow on in your way
What you are pleased to show to us each day

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 11.12.12.10. metre, though the hymn varies slightly from this is some lines. Theme of the trinity need not be controversial. I, being centuries old (!) was an observer in person, so I say, at The Council of Nicea (tune name) in 325AD when they formulated the doctrine of the Trinity.

We can imagine something without an end, but not without a beginning. We would go insane in our finite minds, trying to picture it.
Yet this is how I felt inspired to start this poem off.
The way I believe nowadays is that beginnings and endings do not exist we come from and go to eternity with our Spirit who has always existed.

Thanks Gold. Were you observing at The Council of Nicea in 325AD too?
I read through todays offering twice Mr. O ... the first time I quite liked enjoyed the pace and flow ... the second time .. I stopped half way and looked around and thought ... yes .. it's Nicea 🙂

Thanks Neville.
Would that be 'nice 'ere' or 'nicer'?
And when will I shut up?! lol.
Some versions of it are jazzed up, and rather murder the song, I'm afraid! If we met such holiness, we wouldn't be 'jazzy' or whooping it up. No need to be morose though.
We have the knowledge, and the wisdom to understand was granted, but regrettably, we his chosen ones, lack the ambition to act.
As always your homage to the Creator is sublime
Thanks M.
