We sing the same songs
you and I.
We prefer the adventure of discovery
to the safety of knowledge;
white lies becoming
black truths;
air as thick as aspic
with a clammy heaviness
and a tang of ozone;
the subtle chill
when the sun is gone.
The world is too complex for most things.
Neither purely right nor wrong.
Words, actions, even intent
depends upon
who does the viewing
and who is being viewed.
The things we mean
to do.
rarely match
our accomplishments.
We have no idea
what we’ve cost each other
nor the faintest trace
of understanding.
You and I
sing the same songs.

I don't know if you and I sing the same songs Trenz, but I’ll tell you this – I really liked your piece. Many ideas floating in there each worthy of separate contemplation.
Thank you, Dave. I appreciate it.
A fine, compassionate exploration of sameness/otherness, misunderstanding, and failure to perceive or imagine beyond our self-centered point of view. I like this very much.
... a compelling introduction to your work my friend .. enjoyed write from one end to the very other ...
Thank you.
May those songs remain in unison forever.
Andy
Let us hope. Thank you.
Wonderful, all encompassing, poetry.
Yes this is me, within your words, and all who have ever crossed my path.
Often in my thoughts are 'how does that person view my world, their world, our world'.
You cover such a huge subject today and im thrilled to place this piece into my favourites when I have enjoyed re-reading it a few more times.
We all try our best. Thank you for your support.
