Tune: Melcombe
('New every morning is the love')
**********
A day awakes, the darkness breaks
May we your servants, as each takes
The minutes and hours now new
Lord, seek to know your will to do
To do some good, for days they be
Evil, they short to last, we see
Here we be for a life-time's span
My we honour you as we can
Aiming to share your good news too
That others will the saviour view
Midst many things in life daily
Help us you by eye of faith see
Onward in life, progress each day
To grow more Christ-like in each way
And believers hope, heavenly home
Which by your grace we hope to come

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 8.8.8.8. metre. The days can be 'good'. Though they can be 'evil' or have evil things happen in them (verse 2).
