music disturbs me

dusk arising

Music disturbs me.
Music reaches into me
with an ease of access
straight to my emotions.
On a bright and cheerful day
I find tears on my cheeks
because music has touched me.
On another occasion
I am dancing, lost in rhythmn
and strutting my stuff.
The musicality and tenderness
of feeling in a human voice
can leave me spellbound.
Music can stir me
into creative production.
Music in my garden
as blackbird sings it's
closeure to my evening
enthralls me with it's beauty.
And as a player of several
instruments, music
pleasures me and
hopefully those around me.
Yes music disturbs me.
Life would become
bland without music
falling to my ears.

Thank you, that's music to my ears.

Maybe you should call this “ music inspires and delights me “

Great poem anyhow 🙂 I love music although you be honest I probably don’t listen to it enough . The sound of birds is beautiful . Having music on can certainly help with writing ,

Yes , what would we do without music .

      It’s amazing

I make a lot of music too, i often reach out and pick up the native american flute (a somewhat limited instrument) and have a toot, it's always just 24inches away from me alongside my little ukelele. Upstairs I have a music room with several instruments but I have been neglecting it lately due to other projects.
I chose the title carefully because it's purposely slightly contravential. I only met one person who said they didnt like music, she was a horrible battleaxe of a woman who's house i was working in.

indeed, where would we all be without music
they claim it predates language or art
        which makes sense to me..

Yes I agree. We must have had birdsong, animal calls, wind in trees, tinkling streams and crashing waves long before man picked up his first tool.

You could get a job as a doorman employed to empty a place as quickly as possible after the show finishes by bursting into song!

A great read. I love music and can't think of a life without music. Yes, you can find music all around you, in nature, in the song of the birds.

There isn’t a soul that isn’t raptured by the sound of music, as you have to cleverly used the title to show its hold on us.
              Lovely indeed

Music is the be all and end all. The only real magic in this world. That and cake

                • dusk arising

                  CAKE?..... stop it!
Shall I compare her to a fresh gream gateau
that cries to be eaten from its shelf
Oh no no no I refuse to share
I want the fekker all to myself.

And then it's gone.... but the music plays on....
