If Truth was a Colour
If truth was a colour
It would not be green
…
Green is for forests
And gardens and envy
…
If truth was a colour
It would have to be blue …

I agree . Colours have so much meaning . A nice poem
............................................. thank you both kindly and true yellowrose 🙂
... Neville
I wish truth were black and white with no room for misinterpretation.....
However, blue seems to be, as you say, the inevitability of truth.
Short and punchy verse get my vote every time.
... I'm with you DA .. but sometimes, one needs to make some kinda compromise .. maybe ....... I'm led to believe tis called poetic license ............ mighty big THANKs tho' regardless ..
Yes I see it as silvery blue - - colour is deep in its meaning as are your thoughts in these lines Nev -- what a perfect hue to choose for truth........x
.... thank you kindly and true & with more than a touch of blue my friend ...

I Confess blue to be my favorite colour - at least during the first half of my life.
Now - not so sure.
But your poem neatly has Early Dave well and truly in it's pocket, Neville.
... thanks for stopping by Dave .. always appreciated sir
Neville
A fine write N.
.................................................................................. that's fine then .. cheers Mr. O
Love it. Although not all truth is blue sometimes honesty is a nice shiny yellow
... Thank you kindly Saxon Crow, it seems we speak the same language, you and I .. and to tell you the truth, I like shiny yellow too 🙂
Sorry, I am color blind. All truth to me is grey, maybe. Like the thoughts behind it.
.................................................. then that'll do nicely ... thank you m&m 🙂
There is an artist's palette for all of the truths to be told. One of every shade and hue. You have chosen "blue" and as though something sad or disheartening, having to do with the ocean or sky. has happened. Traveling, maybe to a sad affair.
One cannot speak of sadness in any color but "blue", and could not speak of happiness in that same tone.
There are simply too many truths and too many colors for the artist to speak or paint a "Truth" that pleases everyone.
If you ended your poem, would it be that "blue is for ocean, and sky, and sadness."?
Wow! It's hard to believe that so few words in your poem can stir so much emotion. It must be that a central nerve has been awakened. Every comment will now expound on their chose of color for their emotions. You have stirred the hornets nest.- Phil A.
Blimey .................. did I do all that ........ I know I like living dangerously but ... .......................................okay, no buts, but I do thank you sir and truly .............
Truth is colorless, you see right through it.
Some say I’ve never told a truth in my life, and so your poetic term will do, truth be told
..................... thank you bluely for visiting and considering my latest little scribble ..
I look up into the sky and see the blue of truth all around me.
Andy
... well I'll be blued ............ a little golden nugget pinned to my page ....... cheers Andy and true 🙂
as you've done, on so many occasions
my brilliant friend!
you've gone and inspired me
to surpass my feeble limitations
and scribble
something genuinely worthwhile,
thank you!
this is my poetic reply, dedicated
to the truth that resides
within each syllable of your write's...
'when Blue, is our blanket Sky: of True'
that jazz blue of belonging
as our yearning's, soothing
quenching relativity's view
by our stereotyped: collaring
...!'
................ If no one else should ever visit these words, I shall nevertheless indeed be deeply honoured and in more ways than one to have your comment serve as a perpetual footnote at the very bottom of this page ... 🙂
