The Cat In The Window

Jayasree

She sits on the window ledge

watching the world.

I wonder

what's on her mind.

Is she looking at the

woods beyond

at what dangers lurk there

Is she worrying about how to

survive in this world

Is she sad

thinking about her lost kittens,

worrying about her one surviving baby

or is she having some 'me' time

away from all her problems

watching the bees and the butterflies,

wondering about

what's beyond the blue blue sky

or is she thinking of

what mischief she can

get away with.

She sits there

on the window ledge

warming herself

in the sunlight

still, not moving ..

She sits on the window ledge

watching the world.

Many sit by the window watching the world, looking for the beauty that was and seeing the beauty that we know is there.

Who knows what the mind of a cat perceives. But you certainly give us inroads to possibilities.
Such a wonderful almost perfect life form. THoughs of the big cats terrify me.
Thank goodness the warmth of our body contact and a bit of fuss can bring out the pussy cat in our little friends.

Please do not even attempt to plumb the depths of Cat's consciousness. She is enigmatic and lives in her own reality.

it's sad that she lost her kittens, they got sick but luckily one kitten survived and is safe and happy. The kitten's name is Uku. I love animals and I feel they also have every right to live in this world, just like us. Breaks my heart when I see animals being mistreated.
    Thanks everyone:)
