Tune: Woodlands
('Tell out my soul')
Psalm 136 v.1-12 and v.25-26
***********
O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good
He daily bread provides, our needed food
O give thanks to Him, He the God of gods
And give thanks to Him, He the Lord of lords
For He is good, His mercy endures e'er
In His wonders and works we all may share
For He alone does great wonders of love
He by His wisdom made the heavens above
He stretched out the earth above the waters
Assigned the bounds of all the sea-side shores
He made great light, the sun to rule by day
And moon ans stars to rule by night alway
He smote Egypt's people in their first-born
And brought Israel out, their redemption dawn
With a strong hand, arm outstretched, mighty power
He rescued and redeemed them in that hour
And more He did, His people He did lead
Through wilderness, and faithful did them feed
O give thanks to Him, He be God most high
His mercy endures e'er, and He us nigh

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 10.10.10.10. metre. There is 'daily bread' in the things we need for our souls and spirits too. To mix metaphors, they say 'Give us your dough' when asking for money!

This reads like a section of Orchidee's concise revised bible. Well at least its a much quicked read.
Thanks dusk. That'll be 'quick' in the old sense of 'make alive' or 'revive' then?! The times when one was either quick or dead, as they used to say.
Orchi be nimble, Orchi be quick, Orchi jump over the candle stick..... but orchi should have jumped much higher..... oh listen to his heavenly choir.
Me frock (cassock) caught fire when I didn't jump high enough. Not to be confused with hassock, which is a 'kneeler'/cushion to kneel on.
I didn't know we were dead if we were slow - quick and the dead!
One of my favourite God-words is Mercy - we all need to use this trait more often - a good read Orchi.
Thanks Fay. It's used often in that Psalm - after every line! It's called 'The Great Hallel (Praise) Psalm'.
now that's what ya might call highly musing ...
... 🙂
Thanks N. Can ya beat a bit of musing?!
Mercy me that's a good one, Orchidee.
Thanks Jerry.
Good musing Orchi.
Thanks Gold. You seen Cally lately - Caliope? I remember we met her in person.
