Meditative Moments

orchidee

Tune: Franconia

('Blest are the pure in heart')

Psalm 62 v.5-8

*********

Settle now, heart and mind

Soul through your turmoils find

The peace of the LORD, on Him wait

He shall help you not late

My hope, expectation

Is from Him, He the One

He only my God and rock be

Here be security

He too my salvation

And unto each nation

He my defence, I shall not be

Moved, nor be shaken, see

My salvation it be

In God, and my glory

He be, and the rock of my strength

Throughout my whole life's length

My refuge too it be

In the LORD God freely

Trust in Him at all times, people

Unto Him pray and call

Pour out your heart before

Him, of His treasure-store

He shall give you, He a refuge

For us, here take courage

Call Him 'Her' then. And call He 'She'. 🙂

And who is the top dog, the 'lord' or the 'king' ?? (both male).

                  Thanks SC.
I read a phrase recently, not on poetry site: 'Good song; a bit different to what my orthodox, traditional ears are used to hearing'. I'm open to some 'rocking on'. Even a hymn book is entitled 'Hymns Ancient AND Modern'.
