too busy?

dusk arising

Most religions
want us  to believe
that god
created the world.

Why aren't
all the churches
of every religion
in the far flung
corners of god's
world (our home)
at the forefront
of green issues
inspiring all to
save god's creation.

Are they too busy
investing in
unethical stocks
and shares.

Why, yes, some are. But not all.
I've not got antipathy towards religion or spirituality.
It's worse having professed faith, and doing some bad things in the name of 'religion', than to have no faith at all, I think.
We need to watch our own step though, me included. Jesus' words of 'hypocrites' applied to some of the religious leaders of his day.

Thanks Orchidee.... are they trying to save the planet though?

      • orchidee

        Well, some are, I believe.
A negative view would be: Well, this world is going to end one day, so why bother maintaining it?'

        • dusk arising

yeah, when theres a few pounds to be made in the meantime

Well, I've left one church, or at least not been there for ages. Someone else left because of money matters - the appeals for a cool million now and again, and not just one time. Then I partly left because of that too.
And passing the collection 'hat' round twice in the same Service - that's too much!

The C of E is far from 'needy' and the RC church as you know is the most wealthy organisation on planet earth.

              • orchidee

This was not C of E nor RC, but I know what you mean.

The institutions are mostly corrupt. They fear a truly devout person. Good poem Dusk

                Good write, Dusk.
Humans can make a convincing sounding case for or against anything. The sun will burn until it doesn’t the planet will orbit until it doesn’t we will last until we don’t. Enjoy the ride.

I am inclined to agree .. you make a good point and raise a pertinent question .......................

So true d a money is the thing that
drives many religions to move forward, not their beliefs.
