Tune: Corpus Christi
('Jesus, in they dear Sacrament')
*********
Not forgetting Communion
Your invite to each one
Here feast of bread and wine there be
We join in here humbly
'Tis feast, you Lord, did institute
With gifts simple, astute
The bread your body, it broken
To bring life to all men (mankind)
The wine your blood, it shed freely
To save us, even me
So with heart and mind wand will prepared
May we in it have shared
To strengthen body, spirit, soul
Forgive, heal, make us whole
We do partake, remembering you
Say for us so to do
And sharing gospel news to all
That they may hear your call
Come accept your salvation
Offered to each nation

Sorry dusk - deleted your comment by mistake. Type it in again if you wish.
Symbolism, yes, but cannibalism, no.
It's meant 'spiritually', though the bread and wine is there physically.
Symbolic cannibalism. Drinking his blood and eating his flesh.
Im hungry now. But more for a big mac
Thanks SC.
Well done, Orchi.
Thanks Jerry.
I have always wondered about those little round wafer things .. and the wine of course ... My father-in-law had a shed load of each ... but then he was a vicar ... 🙂
Thanks Neville. It's symbolic, the bread and wine. Though in early days the churches had to live down rumours that they practised cannibalism, as if taking the bread and wine literally, as eating someone physically. (so says a Commentary I have).
The "Gospel News" another newspaper you cannot believe.
Andy
Thanks Gold.
Ohh, it's a newspaper I will believe, hopefully not in blind faith!
I feel you do too. though we don't want to believe in man-made things of 'religion'.
