Annual Fabrics

Harry Atkinson

Reminder to self
Remember yourself

These frayed jeans
In an unmade bed
Surely it’s not 4pm already
After this
After that
I have only just sat down

Tomorrow i’m going to be a year older
Now I have frayed with these jeans
Perhaps next year
The bed will be made

Time is the way life is, do not worry about it, as you get older you get wiser.

    'Perhaps next year
    The bed will be made'
that's the dream: anchoring our nightmare
    of anxiety driven, lethargy...
    thanks for sharing, dear poet
