Love Bites

Fay Slimm.

Love Bites.

The sear of love's scald

as its drop falls

in hot spirals toward

naked veins, bites

as it marks open heart

and re-robes mind

with chaotic disorder,

 - - -- - Yet - -- -

love sprouts a genesis,

scars heal better

and new dreams mend

as blood houses

another arrival of felt

armory for arousal,

 - - -  Yet - - -

Love cools as it burns

in non-ending

lure of consummate

duel-made

firey learning curves

for digesting.

"Love hurts, love scars, love wounds and marrs any heart not tough, or strong enough to take a lot of pain"

Those words from the old Everly Bros song came immediately to mind reading your post today.

How, scarred and battered from love's past, we fall into the pleasure pit when love chances our way. Do we shun it or seduce it. Have we become the spider to the fly?

Forever mystifying is love. But why bother quizzing ones brain over it. Romantic love is the highest high known to mankind.... well, this man anyway.

Your comment puts it all wisely my friend - - Romantic love is forever a baffling mystery. - - thanking you muchly.

While we may control hate, love has no bounds. It even melts the heart of the devil incarnate. So yes, love bites at my pleasure
            Once again, a fab work

            • Fay Slimm.

How right you are Suresh that love has no bounds once it smites a heart. Gratitude my friend for your visit and comment.

              My Dear Fay,

I’m so happy to read your poetry once again. You’re an amazing writer!

Yes, love does bite and sometimes it stings.
This reminded me of the lyrics…

              “When the bee stings
              When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad”!

              Thank you for sharing.

              Laura 🌻

Thank you dear Laura for your kind comment on Love Bites and what a lovely comparison to make - -- love like the bee can certainly sting.

Yes love bites but the love that bit me took me into a place of absolute wonder which will never die.
                Good words Fay.

                Andy
