Which Is The Greater?

Goldfinch60

I am so fortunate in my life,

Within my life I have so much

That pleases me

And takes me to another place,

A place of dreams, peace, love and beauty.

The words of poets written on the page

Can send shivers down my spine,

Or laughter through my body.

Such words can bring so many feelings

As their words enthral my inner being.

I can stand in front of an artwork

And see so many things within it.

In some pieces I become part,

Part of the painting

Where the artist pulls me into their being.

The sound takes me to a special place

When the music surrounds me,

And has surrounded me all my long life.

Every day I seem to find new music

That takes me to another place

Where life is so wonderful.

I am so lucky in my life

I have poetry, art and music.

Within it

There is so much of it to be seen and heard

And to my mind,

So little time to absorb it.

Then there is the unanswerable question,

Which is the greater,

Poetry, art or music?

A great write. We all are lucky, we have music and poetry and art in our life. So true, your words. So much to see and do and so little time.

      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Jayasree, yes we are lucky to have all this in our life. I often say about music "So much music, so little time."

        Good write Gold.
Ohh, it ain't unanswerable to me. The answer is music, cos it drowns out my singing. People find it sheer bliss. Simples! lol.

        • Goldfinch60

          Thanks Orchi.
In that way it is, mind your thunder can drown out your singing as well - the power of nature is wonderful. LOL

Or movies or theatre? But I think Teddy nailed it, and I'm not about to attempt to top that.
A powerful little write, though, Andy.

Joe took the words right out of my mouth. All I can add is that it's all part of the art work of life. Beautiful Andy. ; )

I think I have an answer.... the greater is the mind which asks the question.

                • Goldfinch60
