dusk arising

And so we lay in the cornfield
  blue skies alive and buzzing.
The lovesong of our lives
 playing under blazing sunlight.
Words you never gave to me.
 You gave everything instead.

Such a romantic poem. Short and sweet. Love the last 2 lines 🙂

    • dusk arising

Everyone should experience a love of this kind at least once in a lifetime.... short and sweet though it was. I'm pleased you enjoyed this Jayasree.

      a great write

      • dusk arising

That reads like it really chimed with you. It's pleasing for any poet to know his chosen words found a mark in their reader especially when the reader is a respected poet. Thank you LBM.

Tres romantic Dusk. Especially the last two lines my friend

        • dusk arising

Well there's a dilemma in the choice of those two last lines for she has in fact given me many thousands of words of poetry. Many many memories too. Thank you SC.

            I won't pry 😉

            • dusk arising

Many more words of the memories shes given me will flow onto MPS for certain, several are already penned.

You'd have loved her Orchi, unfortunately she doesn't have a sister for you.

Thank you Yellowrose. As before, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

                  Dusk,

                  A wonderful read…

                  insightful…
                  powerful…
                  meaningful…

                  Thank you for sharing.

There's so many many more words i shall share about this episode in my life - the one that got away (mutually agreed some 30 years later).

Thank you Laura - your choice of picture is a delight to see everytime.

                    • Laura🌻

Thank you Dusk for appreciating my🌻. It’s my favorite since I was a little girl. My parents, who had a field of sunflowers, would always tell me that I was the brightest amongst the beautiful sunflowers in that field.

                      Moving, write, Dusk.
                      Soft, tender, well done.

                      • dusk arising

Thanks jerry. I guess that's what memories of love bring out.

…and this is how our memories smile!

Thank you mohangupta. The sun is shining here today - just think how many memories are being made today - a wonderful thought.

                        • Fay Slimm.

Ooooh this touches such tender heart-strings - - a fine love story and poemed by lines to remember.

                          • dusk arising

Thank you Fay. On reflection i got it a bit wrong. Whereas she didn't give me much spoken word she has given me many words of reminiscence. There have already been several MPS posts about this lady, many more will follow i'm sure.

The vale has a lot for which to answer.
