Pride (An Acrostic, written in June, “Pride Month”)

AuburnScribbler

Purified I am, with a shining natural

Realisation, that I can love universally,

Intertwined I have always been, let not

Deafening silence; be your song friend,

Embrace you, be you, live you, unashamedly!

  • Comment from author about the poem: First and foremost, Happy Pride everyone! Though I've known for a very long while, last year I officially came out as bi, thus, I am now part of the LGBTQ+ community. So, I thought, that the above acrostic; succinctly entitled "Pride", would act as a little homage not only to the LGBTQ+ community, but to all communities, who strive to be themselves in a very proud way. The cover photo; appropriately, is an array of love hearts in different colours to celebrate variety, and the accompanying image of a rainbow lion from CrystalStar716 on flckr, portrays the inner strength that all of us have; in doing what we do. I hope you enjoy the poem, that you take something from it, and as always, stay safe everyone!

It was, I suspect AS, a long hard road and it’s great you have now reached a happy destination. You take care of yourself.
Your cheer and happiness comes through in your post.

      • AuburnScribbler

You're right, it was a road of both confusion, but then clarity.

Though in this matter; I have reached this happy destination, life's road; is still ahead, and may be even longer, I just hope that it'll all work out.

Thank you for the read Doggerel Dave, and I hope that all is well!

          Brave write, A.S.
          Standing on the roof
          Hand in hand, we jump
          Children in the wind

I have always loved the phrase Dusk has used in his comment - to live and let live allows all to be just themselves - points well made here in your acrostic A.S.

              • AuburnScribbler

Thank you for the read Fay, and I totally agree what dusk arising said in his comment.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the poetic points made here.

I hope that all is well!
