Griddly Smethelton of Boffington Town

Saxon Crow

Griddly Smethelton of Boffington Town
Is the strangest of fellows that has ever been known
When anyone sees him they jump with a start
They can tell when he's near because he smells like a fart
His eyes are like coals all dusty and black
And his long wrangly hair is the colour of sack
But there is one thing about him that everyone knows
It's the enormous size of old Griddly's nose
Where ever he wanders the first thing you see
Is the length of the thing right down to his knees
As much as he hides the enormous proboscis
There's just no mistaking where the runny old thing is
His trunk has put elephants loudly to shame
And his nose blowing antics mimics the rain
But the thing about Griddly that everyone hates
Is whenever he sneezes, he makes the town shake
There's nothing to do to stop old Griddly coughing
Because Boffington Town is renouned for its pollen
Come spring time and summer all is tied down
When Griddly Smethelton is walking around
His nose is blocked up with a Cork in each nostril
And the flowers are burnt to avoid lots of rubble
But whatever they do its never enough
And the town is so flattened the folk all gave up.
So people avoid him as best as they can
For fear of the sneeze that comes from this man
Poor Griddly Smethelton what can he do
Because everyone's frightened when he says A, a, a, aaaaa........chooOOOO!
