In our lives we have so many ups and downs,
Each one is now behind us.
We know that life can knock us down,
But the choice we have is ours
Whether we should get up again,
Or not.
In my long life I have always got up,
And at each rising have become stronger
So that now being knocked down is avoided
As I have the knowledge to stay positive
And move forward to a better life
That I know will be with me,
Each and every time I arise .

Nil illigitimus carborundum. Don't let the b'tards wear you down. Yep, I give myself permission to have 'down days' but rarely inflict them upon others unless through a posting on here LOL.
"Illigitimi non carborundum " is the saying that I have on a stone plaque hanging on the wall in my conservatory!
Very true d a, it is only hear and with good friends we share our down days, mind you I do not have many of them any more.

I'm on me feet mate, an going to stay there for as long as possible - Where I live, lay down too long they will wheel me out with no 'excuse me'!
Lovely write and good advice as a bonus....
Thank you Dave, yes just stay on your feet.

what an empowering message Andy
rousingly: rejuvenating!
right from its emphatic title
'I arise': indeed!

Thank you Jayasree, I am always positive.

It serves no purpose to let the downs hold you there. Bouncing back is an art form mastered by writing poetry. Great write Andy. ; )
Thank you so much , you are most kind.
Andy
Now that’s a good philosophy, great write!
