Resurrection Reminder

Tune: Galilee

('Jesus calls us o'er the tumult')

1 Corinthians 15 v.12-20

*********

If Christ be preached, that He has rose

How do some of you suppose

That there is no resurrection

For us now, no, not for one?

But if no resurrection be

Christ is not risen, see

If He be not risen, preaching

And faith is vain, every thing

And preachers do lie if they say

Christ is arisen today

If God has not from the dead raised

Christ, He still dead, and not praised

If He is not raised, then faith be

All vain and all contrary

And we are yet in our sins for

Then there no forgiveness sure

If we have in this life only

Hope in Christ, pitiably

We be, but now truth, He risen

Lord and Saviour of all men (mankind)

He the first-fruits of them that died

Sleeping in Christ they reside

Till comes resurrection  morn when

Eternal life lasting then

Cool poem based on I Corinthians 15? I wish I could pen religious poetry. Maybe I should read more to get inspiration. Apart form Christina Rossetti, (and you, of course) the Christian poets bore me.
