Himawari - Sunflower

Neville

Himawari - Sunflower

Even with his head

turned slightly

to one side and held low

He shone

and brightly so ..

Erect, proud and golden

Taller

than his counterparts

Spilling petals

on the ground

The poppies and the

cornflowers

all bowed and strewn

abundant ..

Not to mention those

violets

sown ever so lightly

into the

violent hedgerow

Somewhere down below ..

Your fine words raise a metaphor in my fanciful mind Nev. To belong to that sunflower class eyes need to shine with confident beauty and heads grow taller with maybe looking where best to show care for those growing in violent surroundings - thanking you kindly cos even tiny short me feels a bit taller after thinking on your lines rich in simile...........x

                    Neville,

                    ‘Himawari’ as in Girasole…
Beautiful words for a beautiful flower.🌻
I feel like I’ve been in that field of beauty that you so elegantly have penned with an abundance of metaphors.

Thank you for sharing your pen.

                      • Laura🌻

How could I not smile upon your ‘little scribble so favorably’…after all, it is my favorite flower that you’ve ‘scribbled’ about.🌻

                        'He shone

indeed you do, oh graceful wordsmith
                        Beautiful imagery, such brevity
                        a deep, meaningful write
                        thank you! Hyung

                        • Neville
