Tune: St Hugh
('Lord, teach us how to pray aright')
Psalm 70 v.4-5
********
Lord, if our prayer is weak or short
It not treated as nought
For you will hear, fruit we shall bear
You grant us comfort, care
Let all those that seek you rejoice
And praise you with one voice
Let them be glad in you, and such
As love you, declare much
Who love your salvation, they say
God, He great, day to day
They extol Him, and serve humbly
His witnesses they be
But when I poor, needy, be swift
Lord, my soul do uplift
You my help and my Saviour, pray
I that you not delay
