I have never been her lover
But i always was her friend
And i don't want another
I just hope the friendship will never end
I've seen a boy fall in love with her
And i watched as he left
I don't know what was the error
Regardless of that - now he must feel dead
While i am still her friend
Do you see what i mean?
Messy relatioship or friendship clean
Without uncertainty betrayal or fear
And even though i would love to be her prince in shining armor
I am happy for my role of safe harbor
Because the armor of those boys tends to age and rust and slowly turns to dust
While she knows that whenever she'll need i will be there and would never betray her trust

Yep, I know ladies in this way too. But it does require discipline.
i mean who am i kidding here...i just try to make the most out of being in friendzone in the only way i know how...writing
Being that 'safe harbour' is a great place to be. I am also that harbour for my friends.

yeah, I relate so well with your take
on true friendship's precarious: footing
sometimes, being friend-zoned
can truly be a blessing!
... yet, equally - sadly
it can also be, an unbearable proximity
of unattainable love's: heart-breaking cruelty...
"an unbearable proximity of unattainable love" i like that
