Tom Cardin

Jerry Reynolds

A man is in the waiting room
He came to see the mister.
He’s dressed quite nice, I asked him twice
The reason for his visit.
Offered a card from Scotland Yard,
Here the plot- truly thickens.
The truth be known the misters home
Can be dark and sinister.
Once observed a carpet removed
By a strange cleaning service.
Not ever to be- seen again,
This carpet: or Mr. Cardin.

reminds me of a plot from Hitchcock's fun thrillers
      titled 'Rear Window'
only your story is seemingly set in the UK
and based on a grim reality..
an engrossing read Jerry, thank you
kinda makes me want to know
if you developed a detective character
would it be hapless/clueless type like Columbo
      or a Sherlock-esque self-centred genius
or that intuitive Jessica Fletcher from murder she wrote?

        Thanks, L.B.
Haven't decided yet. In the case of Thomas Arden, they kind of caught themselves. With the punishment being "Burned at the stake" you would think you would be a bit careful with evidence.
