Yes I heard it on the news,
Princess Diana’s car was to be auctioned,
The car Prince Charles bought her,
Bought her for their engagement.
This nineteen eighty one Ford Escort,
Worth a lot of money
It was going under the hammer.
Mind you,
It won’t be worth much
Once the hammer hits it!

- Comment from author about the poem: When I heard this on the news yesterday the last words the presenter said was that it was 'going under the hammer today'. Hence these words of mine.

I was five and uncle cedric took me to this pub where the music was loud and a blonde lady was dancing and taking off her clothes. She removed everything except her black gloves and boots and then stood there like the five of spades. Unclre Cedric... why is her hair blonde on top but black down there, I asked. Well dusk, do you remember when yer dad hit his thumb with the hammer last month and it turned black? Yes i said. Well my lad, he said pointing at her nether regions, that's had some hammer son.
That hammer has a great deal for which to answer d a.

Good write Gold. lol.
Thanks Orchi.
In general, the car's book value isn't much to speak of. But because it was hers, it'll fetch quite a pretty penny. Nicely penned Andy. ; )
Yes it was estimated at £30,000.
Thank you AP
Andy
Hope they put that to good use in Princess Diana's name.

I'm sure they will get the odd tickle of interest at that auction, Andy - human cupidity and stupidity knows no bounds...
Complete contrast to the tickles you got here, which definitively prove poets are a higher life form...
Thank you Dave. It is great fun for us poets to look down on the mere mortals. LOL
