Tune: Pastor Pastorum
('Faithful Shepherd, feed me')
Psalm 129 parts
*********
Where we in afflictions
Suffer other's sins
Yet with you help, LORD, they
Not prevail, we say
It was as if ploughers
In their bitter hours
Ploughed upon our backs to
Disturb us anew
But the LORD is righteous
Shall come to help us
Wicked cut in pieces
Shall be, sin ceases
Let them all ashamed be
Your true judgements see
Be as cut grass scattered
Where the wind has sped
Nor do they that go by
Wish them blessing nigh
To wicked no favour
Wrath they shall incur

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6.5.6.5. metre. One of a 'Song of Ascents' (Psalms 120 - 134). Mainly short Psalms sung as the Jews went up (ascended) the hill leading to the temple. They are mostly more joyful than this, though the wicked have to been seen to be defeated, for the Lord to be ruling and reigning.

an intriguing post .. however, I hope there's no match fiddling going on here Mr. O .. 🙂
Thanks N.
If it was only that simple, evil would have little soil to germinate. But as always you have mastered this form of expression
Thanks M.
