Haunted

Lily_

I'm screaming at the sky
I'm staring down the world
You know I couldn't stay
I'm not your girl

Cuts and bruises - people stare
I wish they would look away
But it doesn't even come close
to the psychological warfare

The stereo turned up too high
So the neighbors couldn't hear
A strong blow to the forehead
But I don't care
Because I cant feel

My vision stained red
There's a ringing in my ear
I just want to runaway
But I'm ruled by fear

So instead I stay up all night
Try to convince myself I'm alright
Even when I cant see you
I know you're still here

Your shadow follows me at dawn
But he's darkest at noon
I fear you when you fade
So I hide under the light of the moon

But still- You turn the record on
and I can hear our old song
I try tune you out
but now I'm dancing
with your ghost

Any sort of abuse both physical and mental must be stopped. If there is love there why is abuse there as well.
    Very emotive write Lily.

You got out but obsessive thoughts and dreams plague you?
They more then likely will diminish over time with distractions resulting from your new life. If not - seek professional help.
In the meantime you have provided us with a well crafted work which brings to the fore the topic of domestic violence.
