Another Year

Saxon Crow

Another year older

As wisdom sets in

Lessons all learnt

Full of meaning

Is what I'd like to say

But nahhhhhhhh

Same old screw ups

Here they come again!

Wahaaaaayyyyy

That wisdom is there, but it may just be waiting for the right moment to show itself.

    Happy Birthday SC.

      That sounds very wise

Honest reflection of human nature. Oh how we wish to improve all about ourselves only to realise we have a collection of years of failed endeavors.

That’s a hard one neatly put, Sax.
I like to think I’ve matured, ‘liberated’ myself over the years –but have I really? Am I kinder, tolerate fools more gladly, resolve problems better? Well in some ways there have been marginal improvements, but overall? The answer as you succinctly put it, is ‘nahhhhhhhh ‘ –Same old thought patterns…same old…same old.
Good to know there are other imperfect human beings out there prepared to acknowledge…

Thanks Dave. Yeah ive come to the conclusion we are the sum of our reactions and actions, which for the most part are always the same regardless of people, situations or environment. In a funny way it's comforting. You know who you are so absolutely no point being anything else. Have a g'day mate

Ha ha - - we never learn do we - - love that swingin word ending this well written confession S.C.

and, so: we dance - again
            in the Rain, only now
            we have the wisdom
            to bring along our wellies
            'Wahaaaaayyyyy' - indubitably, truly..
what would our beloved Island be
            if not a nation, steeped
in that P. G. Wodehouse fun of relativity:
            'Memories are like mulligatawny soup
            in a cheap restaurant.
It is best not to stir them.'..
