Remembering

Rebeccaclara

I’ll remember you,

On hazy afternoons,

The fresh sweet grass,

Filling my senses,

The joyful birds,

Singing overhead.

On hot summer evenings,

The vanishing sun,

Taking it’s last blistering bow,

The sound of crickets,

Humming in the long burnt grass.

On grey autumn mornings,

The wild cold wind,

Blowing tempestuously,

The mighty waves,

Crashing with relentless abandon.

On dark nights,

The black endless sky

Patterned with stars,

A path of tiny diamonds,

I’ll remember you.

And resonate it does Rebeccaclara. I lost someone 50 years ago when they moved to across the country. But...they're still in my heart today and always. Excellently penned. ; )
