Here I am shining like the star that I am;
Always ready for them to fill me up
And switch me on,
Never failing to boil;
And once boiled, the steamy water is poured
Into their pot of tea at the start of their day,
Making them ready for the day ahead.
Just look at him, over blown, over rated;
Thinks so much of himself
Just because he is first used in the day.
But I will have my way;
Just sitting here quietly;
I am ready at all times,
And yes, the time is now.
The coffee goes in, Columbian of course,
The water goes in and the switch goes on.
Slowly, languorously boiling water
Filters through the coffee into the pot.
We may be jealous of each other,
But we are both loved equally
By those who use us.
So a truce is always in place
Across the kitchen floor

Good write Gold. lol
Thank you Orchi.
Minor appliance tension in your domestic arrangements sir? Maybe it's time to show your appreciation of their dedication to please you. Give them a night on the tiles, yep the floor tiles.
Just had a second thought. Has the coffee maker grounds for divorce?
Yes it is only minor tension as I do talk gently to both of them to calm them down to ensure that they produce the best tea and coffee that they can, it seems to work - most of the time.
Andy
I've managed to filter those grounds away from them.
Intervene - counselling - dispute resolution, conditional upon the complete fulfillment of their duties prior to appointments....
Nice one Andy.
PS Apologies - I got about halfway through this account, and couldn't believe it - not like you to put up disturbing material - so thought I had to intervene.....but by the end I realised that most of my above advice was redundant...
Thanks Dave, no apologies required the counselling that I give them produces fine tea and coffee for me to drink.
Andy
how creative, how fun
erm - also, a little worrisome
of all things
having my kitchen appliances
wage wars
based on futile jealousy
is a horror
that might just - tip
my sanity
the other side of my mind's
doorway
to fathomably: rescuable, reality... lol
thanks Andy
Thank you Mek, yes it is a shame but my encouragement to them both soon settles the disagreements.
Andy
Good, write Andy.
I will never make tea again without wondering - "Is the coffee pot pissed?"
Thanks Jerry. All you need to do is talk gently to the coffee pot and all will be well.
Andy
Not a coffee or tea guy myself, but a huge fan of well written poetry I am. ;
)
thank you AP, much appreciated.
