  • dusk arising

Initially this appears quite simple in it's beauty but it's very cleverly composed too.

    • Dove

Yes, it’s simplistic but a Triolet has a set pattern!
      Thanks for stopping by Dusk

I didn't know that Dove. I have no education in poetry and often find myself caught out LOL. Anyway, I think the whole is a beautiful poem and now i have re-read it I'm going to put it in my favourites.

I have tried a lot of different poetic forms in my time but am amazed at just how many you have posted here .. never tried a triolet before tho'
A fun post and like DA has indicated, not as easy as one might imagine ..
I love it when you put in an appearance me duck πŸ™‚

Thanks Neville, it’s my first Triolet! I am pleased with the beauty! I’m trying different
formats! Eventually I’ll get back to my own poetry style! Which consist of pentameter
and abab rhyming ! Thanks for your support

Lovely and very dainty triolet dear Dove - -- love the colours too.

          • Dove

Thank you kindly dear Fay! Much appreciated

Thanks Dove. That had something of the flavor of folk clubs I frequented long ago. Nostalgia.
Consulted W’pedia re the form, and slightly confused came back to your piece, found that your colour coding had done the job for me.

I have nothing to say today,
              The world is a disgusting mess;
And so if I could have my way
I have nothing to say today.
Let others be cheerful and pray
It will work out alright – don’t stress.
I have nothing to say today,
The world is a disgusting mess.

              Howzat?

              • Dove

Oh my my heart skipped a beat in elation! That is a superb Triolet, and quite current too! Glad you tried the formatting

Thanks Dove. Also out there , slightly adjusted, i think, as a full pin: 'A Triolet Ahead of The Pack' appropriately dedicated to you of course.
While here I have a very small apology to make - in my piece on 'Love' I used the name Dove and cooing to deflame the whole notion of love in poetry. Did not realise you, or rather your nom de plume were here, but just out of sight. So - apologies - no offense meant.
                  Take care..

Beautiful Triolet Dove. Looking forward to more of them.
