Shadows are Rather Stiff

flyingfish

hard-edged,
all telling,
not fibbing
nor forgiving.
The mind's eye is blind
to the shadowy-side
we carry in ruck-sacks behind
our backs.
Shadows are brutally honest,
dark and gloomy,
sketches of self in outline,
that we would rather lose
'cause they can't be
colored in.

Quote from 'Peter Pan' (Disney)

Wendy said: “Oh, Peter, I knew you’d come back! I saved your shadow for you. Oh, I do hope it isn’t rumpled. You know, you look exactly the way I thought you would. A litter taller perhaps.”

Those shadows can show us the real person as they cannot lie.

By light is revealed ones shadow. A haunting piece indeed.

The saga of Peter Pan's lost shadow and sew is delightful, probably with no more intended than fun. Thanks for the comment. Best Wishes
