Such is Nostalgia.
Dew-wet sun honied cobbles still shine
with past hurry of hobnail haste.
Antique kitchen clocks still loudly chime
commitment to farm-busy pace.
Noontime still pleads for a break while
labour downs tools and heads drowse
Such is nostalgia still facing old eyesight
of youth work-drugged for long hours.

As you so rightly point out - it's a very nostalgic piece, Fay..... Few or no hobnail boots around there now...
Loverly short piece full of wistful images... Cant help feeling a little sentimental for olde times long gone...
Oldenday times were often harder than we in this age can ever imagine and as you say Dave the days of hobnails are part of its passing.Glad you enjoyed the sentiment of nostalgia that still keeps the fire of memory alive.
The rear-view mirror always with a magnetic pull upon the eyes. Great write Fay. ; )
Yes and the mirror never tells all the tale methinks A.P. - - Big loads of thank yous for your visit and read.
No, not all at once. It comes to us in bits and pieces.
Takes this old fella back a bit and then some ..
No kiddin, superly sentimental n filled me with such a wanting for yesteryear ..
Nostalgia rules my today n truly .. x
Hey not so much of the "old" my dear fella - - those horse-drawn long ago tough days were gone before we came but I know what you mean by wanting a yesteryear - - believe me I join you in going back there for a look-see. Great that you liked my take on Nostalgia and fanking you mightily..........x
Good write, Fay.
Dreams of yesterday come more often now that each day is less eventful.
Right on dear Jerry - we can dream of yesteryears but not have the courage needed to actually live there with work-drugged conditions -- - so pleased you enjoyed the read though my friend.
Truly nostalgic both in art and prose
Much appreciated Suresh is your visit and comment to my view of Nostalgia.
Nostalgia, those glimpses of yesterdays now long passed which bring back too the attached personal experiences of then. Of holding mothers hand, of sisters home from school, of comfort and protected safety taken for granted.
All sperkrd by your fine words today.
It is so good to read your thoughtful comments on my view of Nostalgia dear Dusk ---thanking you sincerely for your visit and read of days gone by,
Wonderful piece of nostalgia Fay.
Andy
