Mutesi Fatuma

Pacifique Niyitanga

My eyes were so blind,

Unconsciously, I couldn't think,

Totally, feelings engulfed my heart,

End of my manly thoughts started,

Silently, the power of love defeated me,

In fact, I could not escape my weakness.

For every single day I spent with her,

And the nights talking about her;

The best friend of mine figured out my secret,

Undoubtedly, he said: "man, you really love her."

Maybe she loved me too or not, but—

All I wanted was to gratify her, and I've just tried.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Mutesi Fatuma, my crush! In May 2021, I met this girl... I loved her so much but I didn't know that it was love. I tried to summarise the whole story in her name, But it's too short to describe my feelings towards her. Maybe the poem sent to her... And she's happy now as I always wished her to be.
