Ephemeral: ‘We’

L. B. Mek

Notice of absence from L. B. Mek
'fare ye well' kind friends

‘We’ - are, what we are

and shall

and can

only be: that - we are

all the rest

is what we, willingly: Shed…

That’s the only way: ‘We’

survive and thrive, safeguarding

that capacity to excavate, from within

our purposiveness, in a blinked existence!

Liked more than liked allows .. just before the profoundly awesome mark and then some ...

    • L. B. Mek

thank you! it's always a little unnerving
      when we post something
we don't fully understand ourselves, lol
      as always your kindness
      is seemingly limitless, my friend

    • Fay Slimm.

A fine reflective write on how to stay who we are and from inside bring out the purpose of living here on the planet - - this one goes into my list of favourites and thank you for it sharing it dear friend.

      • L. B. Mek

what a wonderful surprise, I'm humbled dear Fay
you always seem to connect with the scribbles
I personally - favour, and that's so empowering
        thank you!

      • Jerry Reynolds

        Good write, L.B.
You stretch me, my friend. Had to go and learn how to say "purposiveness."

        • L. B. Mek

          when you've got it down
give me a helping hand, please Jerry
best I can do right now is enunciate it, tentatively
          with embarrassingly exaggerated, mouth contortions
looking like I'm chewing on a stubborn sugarcane
that just happens to be invisible, lol
          (if only I was joking...)
still, what a great word: love the layers in its meaning!
          thank you, dear poet

          we are that...
          that present moment,
          which is ephemeral...
that's the only moment we exist...
still we prefer the past and some
          hopes for the future...

          • L. B. Mek

            indeed
            thank you, dear poet

We are within ourselves and will always progress from within.

            • L. B. Mek

              yup, there's no escaping it
our starting line - for anything
              comes from within...
              thank Andy

              A blink indeed. that's it.

              • L. B. Mek

                it certainly feels that way:
                'a few blinks ago
                I was desperately waiting
                for my beard to grow;
now, it feels like every time
                I blink
there's a new grey, waiting to greet...'
                thank you
for the supportive comment, dear poet

              • illia

Read a few times over. Isn't it wonderful when you can expand your vocabulary in such short sentences. To imbue is our only option. Beautiful piece.

                • L. B. Mek

'To imbue is our only option.'
                  (in all: that we do)
                  Amen!
What an insightful comment, dear poet
                  thank you

                  • illia

I love words that are not used in our modern language, it puts fun into my writing, seems as though I have found a kindred spirit. Nice to meet you,

                    ‘ Oui’

what more is necessary to say, but

                    ‘Oui’

                    • L. B. Mek

                      'muchas gracias mi amigo' 🤷‍♂️
glad you could connect with the write
thank you for the supportive comment
                      (ignore my goofy antics
just my warped sense of humour)

'We are" not what we wish we were, or something greater or more meaningful. "We are" what others see and not the image blurred by the mirror. Ego distorts, so does lack of self-esteem. In our "blinked existences" we leave a trail, hardly ever the one we set out upon.
Some very fine words with a sincere and truthful message. - Phil A.

                      • L. B. Mek

well, what a sincere and well thought-out comment
there's nothing more rewarding than finding someone
engage with our humble scribbles, and gift us
even more insight into the words we penned ourselves..
thank you, for investing the time dear poet
                        truly appreciated

                      • Poetic Dan

My first read of the day and given me so much to spray as I am what i am and whatever I can be, the shedding of one moment to the next never comes easily.

Unless a poet opens their soul with inspirational flow, turning my blink of existence into (we're) incredible!

                        • L. B. Mek

'Unless a poet opens their soul with inspirational flow'
crazy, that's basically what my new post today is all about
all those great contributors here at MPS, that breathe life
into our humble write's, with the time they choose to invest
in sharing their wisdom/talent and commenting/encouraging
                          freely.
Poet's like you my friend, writing comments
like the one I'm replying - to
                          and I thank you: sincerely!

                          • Poetic Dan

Well I thought I was awesome until I met you, then within an instant it just went boom! To become far more than any word can do, I still think it's best to start at Uncomprehendable.... not sure if that's spelt right, still that can't take the love out of are light!

                          • Kurt Philip Behm

"Capacity to excavate". very, very nice!

                            • L. B. Mek

                              wow! forgive my eccentric nature
but having you grace my feeble scribbles
is a milestone in this poetic journey
                              I never want to forget.
and what a write for you to connect with?
                              such an amazing feeling
                              you've gifted me, dear Poet
I shall treasure it for as long as I can.
thank you, 'what an honour, for me: personally'
I type these words with the utmost sincerity!
