Fancy

Fay Slimm.

Fancy.

Damp-dark the ivy-cloaked walls

shutter gone days

in wraith-raising moonlight.

Voices haunt empty great halls

as spectres graze

on pregnant-rich silence.

   Other world near-heard whispers

sets fancy free

to unfurl messaged echoes.

Ruins, as poets have witnessed,

already know

how relics manifest ghosts.

I was creeped out by this - thank you Fay.
Now to try to get a good night's sleep.
Not kidding - I had very similar dreams as a child...

    • Fay Slimm.

Oooh - do hope the read did not raise too many creepy child-hood upsets Dave - - thanks a load though for reading my bit of whimsey.

Didn't happen - can confirm a good night's sleep after all - cancel the long trip Fay, no need to come all that way to rescue me ... 😊

Tip-toeing between your words are wraith like cheeky smiles, teasing the senses, the corners of imagination - there! peeping out from behind the ivy, whispering in the echos and mostly haunting our memories.
Delightful read which dances with the nicest of half visioned whispers to tickle.

Oh what a graphic scene you paint as you step between the lines my friend. So pleased to know you liked the read and your poetic comment is greatly appreciated D.A.

We all are relics of memories, fear and so on...

              • Fay Slimm.

That we certainly are Prem - - relics built around memories seem ever a mystery - - thanks a load for your read of Fancy.

a little masterpiece Fay ... perfectly formed and pinned to the page with a very fine and light dusting of noir and casting shadows afore it ..

I am also reminded of old B&W films pf yesteryear for some reason ...

Top marks again from me .... x

Your super-worded review of my take on ghosts among ruins does much for my confidence Nev when as with Fancy I spent more time than planned on shortening and tweaking -- bless ya too for those top marks you give the result................x

Those whispers and feelings are often there to beguile us Fay, as do your words.
