Afterglow.
The sky idly changes
as day is erased,
awesomely flaring
with in-coming night,
slowly emerging
like skeins of grey fur
as dusky silence
births luminous shade
and I wordless
mouth praise for such
order maintained
as afterglow merges
to mystical beauty
of twilight's creating.

aaaaah, twilight and dusk... the magical times as shadows deepen.
I love that first line, such a relaxed feel of night flowing across the sky. Well I love the whole poem, my fav time of day.
Going into my favs too.

Nothing better is there Jerry ? - -- thank you for dropping by for a read and a comment on Afterglow
My Dear Fay,
A wonderful read that reminded me of how blessed I am to be able to witness…
‘as afterglow merges to mystical beauty of twilight’s creating.’
A delightful ending to your poem.
For three months in a hospital room with a view, what I most looked forward to was that transition between day and night.
Thank you for sharing.

Dear Laura -- Am delighted that my little verse on Afterglow was helpful after your recent stay in hospital -- do so hope you are feeling a lot better now and are able to enjoy that beautiful transition once more. Sending you warm Cornish thanks for your visit and read along with big hugs my dear friend.
Ah Fay – sunset – change captured. Would be invidious to single out any one line as my favorite; the whole package covers it for me.
Beautiful words about a wonderful time in the day Fay.
