Constraint.
She possessed a wandering spirit.
He demanded strict control.
Yet in their autumn years she filtered
constraint by nurturing hope
that karmic rewards are consistent
for with neglect faint will grow
scent of faded roses disdain-killed
by an insistent stay-at-home.

If you love someone, set them free.
Too true dear friend - who would want anyone who they loved feeling caged up.
I could not help the smile that etched slow across the bottom half of this sad old fella's face .. not because of the message contained herein ..
but more because it became so very evident, the Lady F just gone an done it all again ....... 🙂 x
Your comments are always tinged with encouragement and for that I send biggest thanks for your smiles mon ami - -- am so pleased you think I " dun it agin "...........x
Seen that so many times, and sometimes the he is a she and/or the she is a he. Loyalty and oaths and pledges can be stronger than manacles and chains. Bittersweet observation Fay. You go girl!
Really appreciate your visit and comments on Anguish my friend ---manacled by vows the position can seem relentless and yes the subject can be either sex. Thanks a load for the thoughtful reminders.
All my life I have been troubled by ones control over another, and doubly so when it is inhumane. Your post succinctly highlights this.
I am pleased that you think the verse and title made clear pointers to what sometimes is found quite unbearable - - thank you Suresh for your continued support and encouragement.
Strong write Fay, I have just been helping a friend of mine with this problem with her partner of 25 years, she has managed to get him to leave and she is now free from that cage and is so happy now,
Andy
Oh Andy - this read must have struck home to you with force as your recent experience of the problem unrolled again......... so good to know your friend feels free of the cage at last. Thank you for sharing your kind help to a friend.
