Finite And Infinite

Tune: St Margaret

('O love that wilt not let me go')

Psalm 102 v.25-38

********

Of old, LORD, you have laid foundation

Of the earth, formed every nation

The heavens are work of your hands

You LORD of all peoples and lands

Great things by you are done

Earth and heavens they shall perish

But you eternally refresh

You shall endure, continue ever

Subject to age and decay ne'er

Yet you your works cherish

They all shall grow old as garment

As coat or cloak fading or rent* (*torn)

You shall change them, they shall be changed

In your purposes thus unfeigned

Grace to us you have sent

But you are the same, and your years

Shall have no end, your power appears

The children of your servants shall

Continue, descendants fare well

Set firm in godly fears
